What data we collect, how it's used, and how it's protected — across the web service and the desktop application.

1. Overview

TagMyRun is available in three places:

  • A marketing website at tagmyrun.com, including a small free sample you can try in your browser.
  • A web application at app.tagmyrun.com that runs in your browser.
  • A desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and how it is protected — across all three.

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service. We do not sell your data to third parties.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use TagMyRun, we may collect:

  • Your email address — used to issue your access key and to communicate with you about your account.
  • Your access key — a long random identifier we generate when you request one.
  • Purchase records, if you buy credits.
  • For each photo you process: a small compressed copy is sent for analysis, processed, and discarded once the bib numbers have been returned. Your photos are not retained.
  • For the free in-browser sample on tagmyrun.com: the same applies. No account, no email required, no retention.

Your original photo files always stay on your device. Across the desktop application and the web application, only the compact analysis request leaves your machine — never the photo itself.

TagMyRun does not access, process, or store any biometric data. We do not perform facial recognition of any kind.

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to:

  • Provide and operate the TagMyRun service.
  • Authenticate your account and process transactions.
  • Communicate with you about your account or results.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party payment provider. TagMyRun does not see or store your card number, CVV, or billing details.

5. Third-party services

To operate TagMyRun we work with a small number of trusted service providers, in the following categories:

  • Cloud hosting and database infrastructure.
  • A payment processor, for credit purchases.
  • An email-delivery provider, for sending your access key and service messages.
  • An analysis service, for reading bib numbers from the compressed photo copies you submit.
  • A bot-protection service, to keep automated abuse off the web application.
  • A privacy-friendly analytics provider for tagmyrun.com — no cookies, no personally identifiable information collected.

Each provider operates under their own privacy policies. We select providers that maintain strong data protection standards and, where applicable, EU/UK-equivalent data protection commitments.

6. Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

tagmyrun.com uses privacy-friendly analytics that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. No tracking cookies are set by TagMyRun.

The web application at app.tagmyrun.com uses a small amount of essential storage in your browser to function:

  • Your access key is remembered in your browser so you do not have to paste it on every visit. You can remove it at any time from your browser settings, or by disconnecting your account inside the application.
  • A short-lived flag is kept for the duration of your visit so the bot-protection check does not repeat on every page load. It is cleared when you close the tab.

These items are essential to the web application's basic operation and are not used to track you across other sites.

7. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption of data in transit, secure storage with appropriate access controls, and automatic deletion of temporary data.

8. Your rights

You may request to:

  • Know what personal data we hold about you.
  • Have your account and associated data deleted.
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

9. Children's privacy

TagMyRun is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Governing law

TagMyRun is operated from the United Kingdom. Your data is stored and processed in accordance with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). We apply these standards to all users regardless of location.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of TagMyRun after changes means you accept the updated policy.
